How Buffalo Pond’s Scholarship Program Works (And Why It Matters)

Local children participating in a small-group swim lesson with instructor supervision.

Over the past two years, Buffalo Pond’s Scholarship Program has provided structured, safe water education to 150 children through fully funded 10-week cohorts. Designed to remove financial barriers, the program combines low instructor ratios, transportation support, and inclusive access, ensuring that opportunity in the water is determined by need, not income.

Buffalo Pond Turns Two

Two years ago, Buffalo Pond started with a simple idea: helping people feel safer and more confident in and around the ocean. What began as a small initiative has grown steadily, shaped by the people who joined us in the water along the way.
